Waveguide Experiments to Characterize the Properties of SNG and DNG Metamaterials

This chapter reports experimental investigation of basic properties of SNG and DNG metamaterials in waveguide environment. As expected, it was shown that waveguide filled with isotropic MNG or ENG medium does not support propagating modes while the isotropic DNG filling supports backward propagating modes. It was also found that anisotropic MNG filling with transverse negative permeability supports BW propagation below cut-off frequency.
