Knowledge sharing and technology transfer: evaluation of recipient's satisfaction in bilateral economic cooperation

There are three aspects of knowledge internationalization: recipent ownership of, recipients commitment to, and recipent's satisfaction with the transfered knowledge, (Leonard – Barton1990). Only when recipent internalizes knowledge can it be sufficiently understood and adapted by the recipient to allow for its effective re-creation and use, (Leonard – Barton& Deschamps, 1988). The focus of this research is knowledge sharing and technology transfer through evaluation of recipient 's satisfaction in bilateral economic cooperation. Evaluation is based on the example of the Netherlands support program in Croatia in the period from 1996 – 2004. The research is explored on the 30 firms by questioners and interviews with the responsable persons, for the project implementation. We are expecting differences in recipient's perceptions of the programm, and various oppinion of the advantages and disadvantages of the projects componenets. If the recipient's satisfaction and other effects of the projects are sucessful, it is necessary to find out which variables have most contributed to it , and vice versa, what happened with less successful projects. Based on this findings, it could be possible to create recommendation policy for designing international cooperation, and better apsorption capability of Croatian firms.
