Measuring of Collecting Pipe Aeolian Vibrations at Transformer Substations and Switching Plants
A procedure that enables a relatively simple, automatized and inexpensive measuring of aeolian vibrations of collecting pipes by application of the vibration recorder VIBRECTM 400 that is originally intended for field measuring of aeolian vibrations of overhead transmission lines is described in this paper. For the interpretation of the recorded data, it is necessary to determine the natural frequencies and the mode shapes of the considered system. For simple cases of supporting it is possible to do that by using simple analytical formulas. If the supporting of the collecting pipe is complex, the natural frequencies and the mode shapes can be relatively easily obtained by the finite element method. In that case it is necessary to model the impact of other components of the system (supporting pylons, insulators).
