Colour designing multicolour fabrics
From the viewpoint of colour, fabrics are divided into single-colour and multicolour ones. Both can be produced either during the finishing or the weaving process. In the fromer case, a single-colour, grey, susally white fabric is either piece-dyed into a single-colour fabric or printed with multicolour paterns during the finishing process. In the latter case, a fabric is woven from already dyed yarns ; if equally coloured threads are used, the produced fabric is single-colour and if differently coloured threads are used, it is multicolour. It has to be emphasized that there is no difference between the properties of single-colour fabrics made by piece-dyeing and those produced by dyed yarn weaving, wchich is not the
