An unconventional approach to forming transition curves on transport routes
The paper provides three ways of linking straight line and circular arch in the geometrical analysis of transport routes: direct connection, in which the straight line is the tangent of the circular arch, conventional solution using the chlotoide or lemniscate, and the proposed unconventional solution. It consist of the procedure in which the curvature function of the transition curve is defined in such a way to meet driving-dynamic requirements, and then the equation of geometrical shape of the transition curve is deduced from that function.
