Georgia bear survey
Georgia is one of the countries that share the Caucasus mountain range between the Black and Caspian Seas. The reach biodiversity of Georgia includes brown bears, but the knowledge about the population status is insufficient. The poaching of timber and wildlife is evident, however the real impact on bears is not known. Additional habit concern is the construction of pipelines for oil and gas that is transferring the whole country from Azerbaijan to Turkey.
