Sažetak
Environmental Programme for Danube River Basin EPDRB was initiated in Sept. 1991 in Sofia, the Environmental Action Programme was established in 1993 by EEC Coutries, while Danube Protection Convention DRPC was signed in june 1994 in Sofia. This Convention was signed and ratified by Croatia. Within EPDRB Programme the Transnational Monitoring Network for the Danube River Basin TNMN was initiated in 1996. Despite the fact that Croatia was not financially supported by PHARE and other donors it participates in EPDRB Programme from the very beginning. National Monitoring Network in Croatia consists of 132 stations for water quality measurements out of which 8 are included in the First Phase of TNMN. Croatia conducts an active policy in water protection against pollution on national, bilateral and international levels. TNMN data are collected from 1995. At the end of 1996 first experimental WWW page was prepared for TNMN in Croatia. In 1997 Croatia became the Central Point for processing of Basin-Wide TNMN data.
