Sažetak
In order to make the laser beam cutting quality more predictable, the surface roughness and drop appearing models must be introduced. Herein, modelling using genetic programming (GP) originally inspired by Darwinian findings about the evolution of the biological species and the survival of the fittest organisms (i.e. natural selection) is proposed instead of ordinary least squares (OLS) multiple regression analysis commonly used in industrial practice. Also, the proposed approach has proved to be efficient and robust, and can be quite useful at the computer-aided process planning (CAPP) stages.
