Decision support system for limig recommendation
The decision support system for liming, including system for economic analysis, could be useful tool more sensitive to soil fertility and liming investment level. This computer program was created according to results of several field liming experiments, soil and plant analyses and results of economic analysis of field crop production in eastern Croatia. There are two major parts of the program: liming recommendations and economic analyses of act of liming including liming effects. Liming requirements are calculated with method which correspond to available soil analyses results (soil pH, exchangeable acidity, CEC, pH in buffered solutions, EUF analyses results, soil bulk density, soil texture), to crops requirement, to available liming material and to other site specific conditions. The program has advisory part which indicates possible recommendations error, which can be caused by insufficient soil analyses data (lack of soil bulk density, CEC etc.) and this part is based on comparison of different liming requirement calculation methods. Simplified economic analyses include prediction of yield and needed fertilizer changes caused by liming and the costs of act of liming.
