Radial Gear extrusion analysis, FE modelling and experimental verification
In this paper a manufacturing process of Radial Gear Extrusion is analysed using three different approaches ; analytical, experimental and numerical one. Upper bound method, experiment and Finite Element FE simulation were carried out to record a force stroke diagram. Comparing three similar diagrams it becomes obvious that each one of the used methods exshibits its own, particular behaviour that has to be explained in order to create an optimal model of this process. Satisfactory fulfilment of considered criteria enabled a selection of the optimal FE model applicable to the simulations including other gear geometries and material properties.
