Standardization in medical informatics

Standard is a public document defining general rules, guidelines or characteristics of products, services or related processes. Standardization bodies exist on different levels - national, regional, international. They operate through their technical committees composed of working groups. Standards are of dynamic category, and should be revised periodically.
