Stability and bifurcation analysis of a two-degree-of-freedom system with clearances

The time finite element method is used in this paper for the stability and bifurcation analysis of a two-degree-offreedom system with clearances under periodic excitations. The analysis is based on the utilization of the Poincare map in which the stability of a periodic solution is transformed to that of a fixed point.
