In this study, ELSD detector response has been evaluated for a series of 15 compounds selected from different groups of carbohydrates (arabinose, cellobiose, erythrose, fructose, galactose, glucose, lactose, melezitose, maltose, mannose, melibiose, rhamnose, sorbose, sucrose and trehalose) as a function of nebulization and evaporation temperature. Additionally, the influence of different volatile ion-pairing mobile phase additives on detection sensitivity was examined.
