The new idiorrhythmic experimental model was used to answer the paradigmatic question: "If we have only one meal a day covering one third of our daily non-caloric requirements shell we divide it in the three but smaller meals or have only this one single meal. This studyy showed that, considering the growth performance, if the non-caloric nutrient like zinc is in a short supply in the diet over a given period of time, it would be better to indulge zinc adequate diet from time to time than to moderate on zinc deficient diet providing the same total amount of zinc all the time. Furthewr, as is shown with unbalanced high density zinc diets of higher idiorrhythms, such temporary indulgence should not be random but rhythmic if better growth results are to be achieved. In other words, metabolic efficiency of nutrients like zinc is an interplay between the relative nutritional density of the respective minerls and adequate spacing of their delivery in the diet. In the case of zinc, ad libitum feeding of a balanced zinc diet and unbalanced high density zinc diet every fifth day is the optimum time interval.
