Influence of fertilization on physical, chemical and physiological properties of malting barley
Paper is based on research of bacteria Azotobacter chroococcum influence to some important malting barley quality and technology traits. Supported by nitogenase enzyme complex Azotobacter chroococcum is capable to convert nitrogen (N_2) contained in air to ammonia (NH_3) in which way it provides essential nutrients to the barley plants. The main limitative factor for the improvement of malting barley quality in Republic Croatia is usually higher protein content of barley grain that could not be avoid due to large influence of soil type, weather conditions during crop growth, growing season duration period, fore- crop and fertilization. Because of all mentioned facts, Azotobacter chroococcum supported fertilization is one of the altematives for the successful and higher profrlable sustainable agriculture of the future.
