Influence Of Room Acoustic Parameters On Subjective Test Results
Subjective hearing tests depend also on acoustic characteristics of the test room. Perceptibility of a referent sound source in a multisource environment was measured using a number of test persons in a subjective way. The task was to localize a referent sound source, or the write down logatomes and sentences from a known referent source. These tests were carried in 3 acoustically different rooms, two of comparable size but different acoustical finishing, and one half the size of the first two. To find the influence of the test rooms on the subjective test results, different acoustic parameters of the rooms were measured. These were: room size, reverberation time, energy-time curves (binaurally using a dummy head), intelligibility parameters ALcons and RASTI, and the room reverberation radius. The given results were compared with subjective tests results to verify the relation between them.
