Changes in the GABA-ergic system of ether stressed rats

GABA levels showed a fall in the substantia nigra immediately after ether stress, and a transient elevation in the hypothalamus 15 min after ether stress. The activity of hypothalamic GAD was increased at all time-points measured, and so was the plasma corticosterone concentration.
