Influence of Preparation Conditionson on the Chemical Properties of the Aluminosilicate Precursors
Physical and chemical properties of aluminosilicate gels were studied by various methods such as chemical analysis of the solid and the liquid phase, X-ray diffractometry, F.T.i.r., laser raman spectroscopy etc., during the ageing at elevated temperatures. Gels were prepared by mixing freshly prepared solutions of sodium silicate and sodium aluminate of different concentrations (0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mol dm-3), previously thermostated on ageing temperature. The distribution of silicon and aluminum between solid and liquid phase and their changes during ageing are discussed in the term of the precipitation/dissolution processes and isomorphous replacement of aluminum from the liquid phase with silicon in the solid phase. Formation of structured subunits in the solid and the liquid phase was investigated by spectroscopic techniques and by measuring of the polycondensation stage of silicate anions in the liquid phase.
