Synthesis of the novel acyclic and epoxide nucleoside analogues
As a continuation of our previous research on purine derivatives of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid and 1-amino-1-hydroxymethylcyclopropane [1], we have synthesized some new nucleoside analogues with unsaturated acyclic and epoxide side chains. The principal aim of this study is evaluation of the novel compounds on their antitumor and antiviral activities. Both cis and trans series of nucleoside analogues were synthesized by reactions of purine or pyrimidine bases and appropriate cis or trans precursors. Structures of the novel compounds and cis or trans configuration of the double bonds and epoxide rings were deduced from 1H and 13C NMR spectra by analyses of chemical shifts, H-H coupling constants and connectivities in two-dimensional heteronuclear correlation spectra
