The electronic book : the change of paradigm for a changing bookmarket

This book is a pioneering work which establishes a definition of the electronic-book based on a research. The book defines the concepts used in the traditional book-sector as well as the modifications to them resulting from the influence of information technology. It also contains definitions of completely new terms characteristic of e-publishing. It addresses important changes in the book sector, and points to the fact that cooperation between librarians, publishers, booksellers, lawyers and information technologists is indispensable in the areas of bibliographic control, copyright, identification, distribution and reading of e-books. The author concludes that the complementary characteristics of printed and electronic books ensure the future of the concept of the book.
