Heat transport in Charge-Density-Wave Systems
Heat transport in charge-density-wave systems has been investigated through thermal conductivity measurements of (NbSe4)/10/3I and K0.3MoO3, as representatives, over the temperature range from 80 to 320 K. The charge-density-wave give rise to the anomalies in the thermal conductivity near the Peierls transition temperature Tp. A small cusp at Tp and a deep minimum below Tp seem to be generic feature of thermal conductivity of the charge-density-wave systems. The temperature dependence of the Coulomb screening of the phason lattice thermal conductivity as Tp is approached from below. In the fluctuation region above the Peierls transition the damping of the Kohn-Peierls phonons comes dominantly from the lattice anharmonicity. The analysis of phonon scattering in this region gives us an explanation of the increase of the lattice contribution to thermal conductivity.
