Educational Work of IEA Bioenergy Task 29: Socio-Economic Drivers in Implementing Bioenergy Projects
The Task of the International Energy Agency 'Socio-Economic Drivers in Implementing Bioenergy Projects' ('IEA Bioenergy Task 29') is an international collaboration project within the IEA Implementing Agreement on Bioenergy. Currently Austria, Canada, Croatia, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom are participating in the Task. The Task is seeking to investigate different regional and national achievements regarding the recognition and evaluation of social and economic benefits of biomass utilisation, and of drivers in implementing bioenergy projects. Education and the contribution that education can make in removing different barriers for bioenergy around the world are seen as an important part of the current Task 29 activities. This paper presents the work programme of Task 29 for the period 2003-2005, and describes the progress made concerning the development of an educational web site on biomass and bioenergy that was launched by the Task in January 2004.
