Sažetak
In developed countries, there is a gradual domination of the knowledge economy, which is characterized by numerous new specific traits. The most significant new phenomena are changes in the content of work, the appearance of the knowledge worker and strategic alliances. The forming of strategic alliances is promoted by numerous market factors such as the necessity for the frequent placement of new products and the generation of specialized applied knowledge. Often not even the largest corporations have a sufficient number of experts or adequate human resources that can effectively react to such market challenges. Market leaders. i.e. the largest corporations, enter into various forms of partnerships with which they attempt to react suitably under the conditions of global hyper-competition. The need arises for new organizational forms and the redistribution of power that promotes innovation and creates an entrepreneurial atmosphere. These processes must be accompanied by the articulation of a specific value system based upon trust and respect, without outside supervision. In such relationships, strategic alliances have a greater chance for success because cooperation by itself does not yield positive results. Alliances were also made during the past but today's specific feature is the necessity to generate rapidly and to implement concrete knowledge or rather innovation.
