Sažetak
The application of mathematical models for transportation in the function of tourist destination management is more than merely theoretical. In fact, it can have considerable impact on the quality of all levels of tourist destination management. Among the many models developed in theory and partially applied in practise, the most commonly used are the ones directly linked to the tourist destination, as well as those applied to auxiliary activities. These include basic mathematical models for transportation in both open and closed form, with diverse functional criteria such as minimum overall costs and transportation time. It can be concluded that the current traffic communications between Croatian tourist destinations and the condition of their traffic infrastructures are substandard in comparison to many other tourist countries around the world, and as such are not sustainable. In addition to other factors, this situation could be improved through the application of mathematical models for transportation.
