Influence weave and threads density on breaking force and elongation
A fabric is a textile construction in which two thread systems – warp and weft threads – interlace at right angle. The way of threads interlacing, i.e. the fabric weave, is the most important constructional parameter besides the threads density and count. Constructional parameters significantly affect the look, mechanical and physical, permeability and other properties of a fabric, and consequently the applicability of such fabric. In the experimental part of our research, the samples of fabrics are woven in four different weaves and with three different weft densities. The breaking force and the breaking elongation are measured and the influence of varying constructional parameters analyzed.
