The increasing market reguirement for faster development of new products has forced many producers to modernize their plants and to introduce new manufacturing procedures in their production processes. One of the new procedures is also the three dimensional printing (process of rapid production ofprototypes directly from the 3D computer model). The work presents the current application of three dimensional printing in casting and detennines the actual possibilities ofimplementation in practice.
