Properties of High-Performance Hybrid Fibre-Reinforced Concrete
Hybrid fibre-reinforced concrete contains, beside other components, at least two or more types of fibres of different size, shape and origin. With the aim of developing high performance hybrid fibre-reinforced concrete, the influence of macro and micro fibres and polypropylene fibres on properties of concrete was investigated. Three types of steel fibres and one type of fibrillated polypropylene fibres were used in our experiments. The compressive strength, flexural strength, toughness, gas permeability and capillary absorption of high performance hybrid fibre-reinforced concrete were measured. The results of measurements were analysed statistically according to a single-factor model analysis of variance. They showed the advantages of the use of hybrid fibres in fibre-reinforced concrete. Finally, on the basis of the results obtained for high-performance hybrid fibre-reinforced concrete, a recommendation was given for possible applications of this building material.
