Stress Analysis in Standard Involute Gearing by Finite Element Analysis

This paper presents calculation of tooth root nominal stress by two-dimensional numerical models of gears using finite element method and by usual approach according to DIN 3990. The calculation is made for four models of gearing by assuming plane stress and plane strain states.
