Influence of row spacing and seeding density upon linseed yield and yield components
Linseed has been grown in the Republic of Croatia since the 1990s. Recognizing its multi-purpose usability, we find it useful to consider the possibility of resuming linseed culture in Croatia. Influence of basic technological measures (row spacing and seeding density) on the yield and yield components of linseed grown in the agroecological conditions of north-western Croatia is investigated within the project « ; ; Growing oil plants in the sustainable crop production system» ; ; , financed by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Croatia. The paper presents the investigation results obtained with the cultivar Atalanta in the period 2000-2002. A significantly higher seed yield as well as the values of yield components were achieved by seeding with the between-row spacing of 22.5 cm. Seed yield increased significantly with the increase in seeding density up to 800 germinated seeds/m2.
