To meet the diverse needs of today’ s customers there has been an increasing effort to reconfigure present manufacturing systems. The work presented makes use of a biologically inspired approach (Bionic Assembly System), based on biologically inspired ideas such as self-organisation, evolution and learning. Paper is focused on design of autonomous robot’ s behaviour, what is a key point of such system, and suggests Evolutionary Robotics as most appropriate approach for developing of such behaviour.
