Isolated Rat Aorta Reactivity in Normoxia and Hypoxia and Liver Lipid Peroxides: Effects of Red Wine and Ethanol Moderate Drinking for 4 Weeks
The objective of this study was to establish whether four weeks of moderate consumption of ethanol and red wine affect aortic reactivity during normoxia and hypoxia and production of lipid peroxides in liver. Despite observed tendencies, we could not prove, in this experimental setting, that consumption of red wine differently preserves vascular reactivity or protects liver from oxidative stress, in comparison with ethanol and water.
