Combined Operation of cataract and glaucoma
The results of numerous studies show that the combined procedure is an effective method of treatment of glaucoma and cataract. The main advantages of combined procedure over sequential surgery include the elimination of a separate invasive procedure and reduction of the cost of surgery. On the basis of my own pratical experience in that procedure and critical reviewes in literature effect on the success rate of that combined surgery will be presented. Different approaches to the opening of conjuctiva and single-site versus two site combined cataract and glaucoma surgery. use of mitomycin on lowering of IOP and its relatio to rarly and late complications will also be analysed. Finally, recommendations and directions willbe given for morden approach to cataract and glaucoma surgery.
