Whan Can We Learn From a Familly Dispute: Rawls and Habermas on Basic Rights
The status of basic rights, especially of the political rights seemed to be one of the main disagreemnts betweent the two leading political philosophers of the 20th. century, John Rawls and Jürgen Habermas. The paper argues that their views on basic rights differ mainly because they have a different understanding of the role that political philosophy should play in justifying and providing a foundation for the basic rights.
