Numerical modelling of power plants under dynamic working conditions
The paper presents the simulation model for heat and mass transfer analysis applicable to different power plants under dynamic working conditions. The suggested model can be used for simulating and analyzing of transients caused by changes of working conditions. in this paper, the numerical model is applied for simulation of the complex marine cooling system, which consists of several interconnected cooling circuits. The tempertures in particular parts of the cooling system are maintained through thermostatic valves by mixing or diverting streams of cooling fluid. Thermostatic valves provide stable operation of the cooling system during any transients which appear as result of load oscilations. Validation of the presented simulation model indicates good matching of numerical predictions with measured values. It has been shown that the simulation model is suitable for power plant components optimization.
