Comparison of the Protected and Unprotected Plough Share Wear by the Abrasion of the Soil Particles

ABSTRACT: The paper shows results of comparative testing of nonprotected plough shares and plough shares protected by different materials and methods to soil abrasion. Wear resistance was determined by plough share mass and surface arealosses after 200ha ploughing of sility clay soil. The plough shares were mounted on the five-furrow reversibile plough. Average work speed of 5, 58 km/h with variation coefificient of 9, 40% was determined during the ploughing. The best results regarding initial mass and surface area losses were achieved with the plough share R3 (lost 16, 16% of mass and 12, 92% of the surface).Since pointed plough shares, both protected by the same material (Elkefem) and method (inductive welding), achived better results than original plough shares, this protection material and method can be recommended as efficient solution of plough share wear protection.
