Globalisation of British Culture and its Impact in Croatia

The main target of this paper is to investigate the influence of Anglo-American civilisation on Croatian culture. This research has been based on the fact that British cultural norms and products have been transferred, transplanted into Croatian society without any obstacles. Transmission of the norms and behaviour of English culture is quite often done via language which is considered to be a medium for transmitting ideas. What we see in the realm of culture are strong tendencies towards national cultural values and parralel to that process there is a strong desire to be a part of universal culture. Two opposing tendencies are struggling for their prosperity.

global culture; Croatian tradition; national identity
