Split Housing: Legal, Illegal and Legally Illegal - The Case of Split (Croatia)
The problems of housing in Split are problems that emerge from three main types of housing: (1) large housing estates built during the period of socialism, (2) large areas occupied by illegal housing with no building regulations and (3) housing built in the post-socialist, "transitional era". This has resulted in social segregation and preference of private over public interests.
