Preparation of new brush-type chiral stationary phases with improved properties

The understanding of the chiral recognition mechanism prompted us to design a new generation of brush-type CSPs. New set of CSPs near the silica surface contains a p-acceptor site convenient for attraction of specific analytes or p-donor aromatic groups that hinder the approach of the analytes to the polar achiral groups placed at silica surface. In addition, the chiral selectors contain several groups fit for effective hydrogen bondings and another strong p-donor or p-acceptor aromatic group. Such polyfunctional framework of newly prepared CSPs, presented by general structure CSP I, provides increased efficacy and acceptance of large number of the racemic analytes.
