Possible ways of Management with Treated hazardous Waste Created by Petroleum Engineering Activities
Technological wastes (tank bottoms, separator sludges, oily soils etc.) are generated during oil and gas production. Part of this waste according its properties and harmful (detrimental) components presents hazardous waste. Central oilfield (production) pits (COJ) are used for temporary disposal, pretreatment, treatment and final disposal of those wastes. After treatment by which the hazardous waste becomes non-hazardous one it is deposited on pit area assign to a final disposal of solidified material. Because of accumulating of inert material inside COJs and their limited volume, subsequent disposal becomes problem, and reusing possibilities of treated waste have to be considered. This paper describes technological wastes from oil and gas production process, central reserve pit and its functioning mode, hazardous waste treatment methods, and viable options for re-using of treated wastes as definite solution of the present problem.
