Extragalactic research using 1m size telescope
In series of papers we have used narrow band colors to carry out rest-frame photometry of galaxies in rich clusters at various redshifts. The properties and distribution of the low redshift sample specifically points to starbursts as the origin of the blue colors in interacting galaxies. Comparison between theoretical models and multicolor diagrams indicates a photometric signature in the interacting merger systems. Thus, theoretical models of starbursts are used to define the behaviour of color indices and to estimate the age of observed starbursts. The observations of starburst galaxies have been carried out using 1m Lowell Observatory telescope in Arizona and 1m Wise Observatory in Negev desert in Israel.
