Trace element (TE) release ftrom the removable metal frame partial denture cobalt-chromium- molybdenum metal alloy material under in vitro conditions of imitating oral saliva and dental plaque
Co, Fe, Zn, Ni, and Cr were released from the removable frame partial denture made from the cobalt-chromium-molybdenum dental alloy. However, the presence of Fe, Zn, and Ni in the Co-Cr-Mo dental alloy was not declared by the manufacturer. Zn and Fe are essential trace element for human nutrition but may affect the durability of Co-Cr- Mo dental alloy in the oral cavity, whereas nickel is a potent allergogen.
