Farmakobotaničko istraživanje Ginkgo folium

In recent years phytopharmaceutical preparations of the maidenhair tree – Ginkgo biloba L. have a high popularity. These preparations are manufactured from leaves. These are usually bilobate, although they can also be almost entire or very divided. For manufacturers it is of interest to know when the leaves contain the highest yield of the active compounds. The concentration of flavonoids were determined in the leaves of 4 different maidenhair trees (male and female) from summer until autumn 1992. The difference in flavonoid content between 4 trees was 0.45%-1.00%. Concentration was lowest in October (0.45%-0.81%) in comparison with the same in September (0.63%-01.00%).
