Pharmacology - Fourth Croatian Congress, Split, Croatia, September 15-18, 2004
The Fourth Croatian Congress of Pharmacology is held every 3 years and covers diverse topics from basic and clinical pharmacology to pharmacotherapy. The goal of the congress was to promote collaboration between basic and clinical pharmacologists in Croatia, and to offer collaboration with prominent scientists from abroad. The Congress integrated pharmacological data, and united preclinical and clinical data in pharmacology, neuropharmacology, and psychiatry, and introduced some novel approaches in the treatment of ulcer disease. Molecular targets for novel therapies, gene therapy, and new advances in pharmacopsychiatry were covered. A novel possible agent (pentadecapeptide BPC 157) for inflammatory bowel disease was introduced.
protein kinase inhibitors for cancer; insulin-like growth factor targets in anticancer therapy; sterolides; antiulcer therapy; role of p73 gene in tumors
