Molybdenum(VI) complexes with tridentate Schiff base ligand, salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone
From the reaction of [MoO2(acac)2] with salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone, and after the adding of methanol (A), gamma-picoline (B), and 4, 4-bipyridine (C), three novel molybdenum(VI) complexes were obtained. The crystal structure of complex (A) is built up of dinuclear centrosymmetric complex molecules with two dioxomolybdenum Schiff base units bridged through oxo-oxygen atoms. Mononuclear complex molecules with cis-MoO2 core and tridentate ligand are found in the structures of compounds (B) and (C), with a differently coordinated Mo atoms.
