Sažetak
One of the most recent processes used for colored wastewater treatment are advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). AOPs produce OH radicals that can be used for removing or degradation of organic compounds in water solutions. In this study it was investigated dye removal efficiency for reactive azo dye Reactive Blue 137 from water solution with hybrid corona reactors and several other AOPs. Hybrid gas/liquid electrical discharge reactor, or corona reactor, involves high voltage electrical discharge in water and in the gas phase above the water surface. Other used AOPs methods were: ozone, ozone in a combination with hydrogen peroxide (peroxone process), and Fenton's process. Some AOPs such as corona reactors and ozonization were performed in a presence of zeolites: NH4+ZSM-5, H+Y, Na+Y, to see the influence of zeolites on dye removal. Dye removal was measured spectrophotometrically. All used AOPs were showed as very effective methods for bleaching of Reactive blue 137 water solution. Mineralization was measured by TOC for some of applied AOPs . Best result for TOC removal was obtained for peroxone process. Zeolites NH4+ZSM-5 and H+Y were showed as very effective catalysts for dye removal in hybrid corona reactors, especially in parallel setup of hybrid corona reactors, where enhanced dye removal very significantly.
