Tooth Fillet Stress Alternation of Thin-Rimmed Gear
The paper deals with the modus of stress alternation rise, considering tooth fillet stress behaviour peculiarities of external thin-rimmed gear in comparison with the gear of a solid construction. The stress field at standard spur teeth root area was determined by means of 3D FEM. By using the developed pinion-wheel numerical model, maximum tooth fillet stress was followed for the meshing phase. Based upon the obtained results, characteristic points of single pair tooth contact were chosen for further stress analysis. The stress variation at the tooth fillet point where maximum tensile stress appears, was examined in relation to the influence of gear size expressed by larger number of teeth, the rim thickness and the actual tooth facewidth, and the insight into the corresponding stress cycle was acomplished.
