Application of fractal analysis to adsorption of organic substances
The scaling of the hanging mercury drop electrode is used to determine the fractal dimension, D, of adsorbed layer of organic substances. It is shown that D is correlated to the structural changes and properties of the adsorbed layer during its buildup. This facilitates additional insight and better understanding of adsorption process and transformations of adsorbed layer induced by the change of electrode potential or any other relevant parameter.
