Flow Engineering - ISO5167, Version 2.0 (MS Windows, Online Help), Laboratory for Information Systems, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb, 1996.

Flow Engineering - ISO5167, Version 2.0 (FE-ISO) is a valuable engineering tool for the measurement of fluid flow by means of pressure differential devices. It is completely in correspondence with ISO 5167-1:1991. FE-ISO is aimed primarily to flow measurement engineers. It could be also helpful to engineers who deal with the physical-property data. FE_2.0 is flexible, user friendly, complete with visual elements and controls and with on-line Help. FE-ISO Help file includes program description, illustrations and technical data for differential devices, material tables, standard pipe data tables, etc. FE-ISO works in MS Windows environment (Version 3.1 or later). FE-ISO is powerful, yet easy to use tool which transforms the flow engineering into an easy task. It solves the following flow measurement tasks: - flow-rate calculation - differential pressure calculation - bore sizing FE-ISO covers the following differential devices, specified by ISO-5167: - Orifice with flange tappings - Orifice with corner tappings - Orifice with D and D/2 tappings - Classical Venturi tube with a machined inlet - Classical Venturi tube with a rough cast inlet - Classical Venturi tube with a rough-welded sheet-iron inlet - Long radius nozzle - ISA 1932 nozzle - Venturi nozzle (ISA inlet) FE-ISO covers the following fluids: - Natural Gas (AGA-8) - Water/Steam - Arbitrary Fluid The computation of fluid properties for a natural gas and water/steam is fully automated. The calculation of density and compressibility of the natural gas mixture is in accordance with AGA-8: Compressibility and Supercompressibility for Natural Gas and Other Hydrocarbon Gases. The computation of natural gas properties such as viscosity, isentropic exponent, pseudo-reduced and pseudo-critical properties, gas-mixture relative molecular mass, etc., are in accordance with the procedures elaborated in the book of Miller: Flow Engineering Handbook, McGraw-Hill, New York, 1989. The calculation of the superior- and inferior-calorific values for the natural gas are in accordance with ISO 6976. The calculation of properties of water and steam are in accordance with The 1967 IFC Formulation for Industrial Use. The FE-ISO also implements the engineering equations, in accordance with ISO-5167, for arbitrary fluids. In these cases it is necessary to enter certain fluid properties into the project as the input parameters. These parameters are fluid density, fluid viscosity and isentropic exponent at the flowing conditions. The FE-ISO enables the following input/output operations: - Save/Load project - Print project - Print project to file - Print project ASCII to file The FE-ISO extensively reports the corresponding errors and warnings if input and/or output data are out of limits and recommendations imposed by standards and helps you locate and correct the errors. To learn more about FE-ISO you can run FE-ISO Help file from the MS Windows File Manager. You can also select Contents from the FE-ISO Help menu to invoke Help file or press F1 key for the corresponding context sensitive help. FE-ISO package includes: - User's Guide - Installation disks (3.5") - Hardware protection key
