A massive interacting binary system V356 sagitarii : the new photometric solution
The eclipsing, interacting binary system, V356 Sgr is of considerable interest since it is probably at the very end of its mass transfer phase, i.e. between Beta Lyrae on the one side, and Algol, on the other. Hence, the binary provides an opportunity to directly examine the exposed core of a star for the sigantures of nuclear burning. The system is composed of an early B star accreting matter from a Roche lobe filling A2 II star. The concentrated effort is being made by Polidan, Roby and their co-workers in deriving the fundamental parameters for both components which supersided previous determinations. Hence, we find justified and important to make a new photometric solution from the light-curves since previous one by Wilson and Caldwell is questioned with new data. We exploited models with: (i) an accretion disk which surrounds a massive component, and (ii) a massive star is a highly flattened star due to critical rotation. In the present contribution we discuss results obtained in light-curve modelling and an optimization procedure based on the genetic algorithms.
