Problem-Based Learning in a Collaborative Learning Environment of WebCT Enhanced Student Acheivement in Acid-Base Physiology
Web-based learning (WBL), problem-based learning (PBL) and collaborative learning are at present the most exciting and powerful educational options in higher education. Independently, each educational method offers an opportunity for moving beyond content acquisition to develop skills and dispositions needed for lifelong learning. The two-year study (2002-2003) showed that student performance in human acid-base physiology increased statistically significant after combining the three educational methods using WebCT courseware tools.
